- We met in 2006 in a small city named Barcelos. Barcelos is located in the Amazon Rainforest in Brasil. David was on a fishing expedition for Tucunare (peacock bass) and I was teaching classes to the natives in Barcelos. I graduated as a biologist from "The Federal University of The Amazon" and have worked throughout the Amazon Basin teaching natives how to preserve their natural resources. While going to college in Brasil, I would make jewelry from natural seeds which I sold to help generate extra money to get through school. Once I moved to Florida after graduating, Acaibeads.com was formed and the rest is history.

Lilian, I'm glad to finally see a face to put with the voice. I love acai beads. The products are always beautiful and high quality. I am having success with my natural material jewelry. At shows my sales are high when I can talk to the customers and tell them about the natural materials. But when I have my jewelry at a retail store the sales are not as good. I have tried handouts and bead names on the price tag but it doesn't work. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to increase sales in retail stores?
